Richie Kotzen Not Interested In Joining Other People's Bands As A Substitute
JAKARTA - Richie Kotzen spoke openly about the possibility of joining Soundgarden or Audioslave, to replace the late Chris Cornell as a vocalist.
It is known that Kotzen was once appointed to replace Cornell as Soundgarden's interim vocalist, when the band toured several years ago.
But to join permanently for Soundgarden or Audioslave, Kotzen believes this will not happen.
"I don't know, because I didn't think it would happen," said Richie Kotzen during a recent interview with Chris Akin Presents.
The man who was once Mr. Big felt his voice character was not suitable for rock bands like Soundgarden or Audioslave.

I think my tree, regardless of what you think of my voice, my roots are deep on soul and R&B. And that's why I sing in the way I sing. I see myself more as a soul singer singing rock than a hard rock singer or grunge, "said Kotzen.
"I know people hear it the way they hear it, and that doesn't matter. And the comparison (with Cornell), I consider it a compliment because, obviously, I see it as one of the greatest of all time," he continued.
More than that, Kotzen admitted that he did not want to join the band to replace the personnel who had left.
"You can hear me sing the song Chris Cornell. However, to really come out and join someone's band, I don't even know how to answer that, because I don't think of it as something that will ( HAPPEN)."
