Viral Bakery Sells Adorable Labubu Doll-Shaped Cakes

JAKARTA - The Labubu trend is still very popular with people in various parts of the world. Most recently, a bakery has emerged that sells Labubu doll-shaped cakes.

Reporting from Must Share News, the Labubu-shaped cake is sold by a bakery from Singapore called Ji Xiang Kueh.

The Labubu-shaped cake is a ku cake or ang ku kueh.

Usually ku cakes are identical to traditional cakes in the shape of a red turtle, and now they have been changed to Labubu. Through the shop's TikTok account, Ji Xiang Kueh, several employees are seen busy forming Labubu-shaped cakes.

The cakes are formed very carefully by hand, then decorated, and finally steamed. The adorable results make the Labubu-shaped cake attract the attention of many people.

The owner of Ji Xiang Kueh, Kelvin Toh said that he has been selling Labubu-shaped cakes for about two months. The sales system is carried out by pre-order, where buyers must first order Labubu-shaped cakes, then they will be made.

Kelvin Toh said that his shop is not interested in selling Labubu-shaped cakes continuously, because it is difficult to make. However, the demand for the cake is still high, up to hundreds per order.

"Actually, we don't intend to sell this Labubu cake like other products. Because the process of making it is very time-consuming," said Kelvin Toh.

"We even had to mobilize all employees to make hundreds of orders," he added.

The price of the Labubu-shaped cake is SGD 10 or around IDR 118 thousand per piece. Although quite expensive, the cake is in demand because the Labubu shape is adorable and the taste is still the same as the usual traditional ku cake.
