Congratulations To Trump, President Putin: He Has The Right Behavior, Dare To Be Like A True Man

JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Donald Trump as a true man when he congratulated his victory in the 2024 United States presidential election, saying Moscow was ready to have a dialogue with the Republican president-elect.

In his first public statement since Trump's victory, President Putin said the Republican politician had acted like a true man during an assassination attempt against him during a speech in a campaign in Pennsylvania in July.

"In my opinion, he behaved in a very correct, brave, like a true man," Putin said at the Valdai discussion club at Russia's Black Sea resort, Sochi, quoted by Reuters on November 8.

"I took this opportunity to congratulate him on his election."

President Putin further said statements Trump made during the election campaign on Ukraine and restoring relations with Russia deserve attention.

"What is said about the desire to restore relations with Russia, to end the Ukraine crisis, in my opinion, should at least get attention," President Putin said.

Trump during his campaign as a preside candidate said he could bring peace in Ukraine within 24 hours of being elected, but had not provided many details on how he would seek to end Europe's biggest land war since World War Two.

The 72-year-old Kremlin head gave just one note warning: "I don't know what's going to happen now. I have no clue."

When asked by a penal about what he would do if Trump called to propose a meeting, Putin said he was ready to resume contact if the Trump administration wanted him, and was ready to discuss with Trump.

Russia and Trump have repeatedly dismissed as nonsense some claims in Western media, Trump is a kind of Russian influence agent. Russian officials said, during his first term of office, from 2017 to 2021, Trump was tough on Russia.

Meanwhile, US Special Investigator Robert Mueller who investigated the collusion allegations between Trump and Russia's campaign in the 2016 US presidential election said in a 2019 report.
