Deputy Minister Sudaryono Targets RI To Determine Palm Oil Prices In The World
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono targets Indonesia to become the largest palm oil producer in the world in 2025 as well as be able to determine global palm oil prices and strengthen its position in the international market.
"Our target is Indonesia to determine the price and the shortest time," said Sudaryono as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 7.
That way, said the man who is familiarly called Mas Dar, Indonesia will also have full authority over the provisions of the prevailing prices around the world.
Therefore, the Deputy Minister invited farmers and business actors in the manufacturing sector to treat national oil palm as a special plantation that was given special attention to strengthening the national economy.
"This tweet is our champion, palm oil is our mainstay and we have to treat our palm oil as something special and we don't want to be dictated by other countries," he said in a statement in Jakarta.
As a concrete step, the government is currently successfully developing palm oil downstream from ordinary commodities to B50 products that can be offered to various countries around the world.
B50 ini adalah bargaining Indonesia kepada dunia. Tapi, kalau mereka tidak mau ya kita gunakan sendiri. Jadi, dengan B50 kita punya opsi agar semua sawit kita terserap," jelasnya.

The Deputy Minister added that the government already has mature calculations regarding how much palm oil must be sold abroad and how much palm oil must be absorbed domestically.
"We already have everything in mind. Trust me we can because we have a lot of professors and we have a lot of experts in the palm oil sector," he said.
"We also have laboratory technology to produce superior seeds. So, we can check before becoming a sprout whether this palm oil is suitable for planting or not. Why? Because we want our palm seedlings to be standardized," said Wamenan.
