The Regent Of Cianjur-Jabar Affirms That He Will Not Intervene In His Sister's Case

CIANJUR - The Regent of Cianjur Regency, West Java, Herman Suherman, who is currently undergoing Cianjur Regional Head Election leave, emphasized that he would not intervene in the legal case that befell his younger brother.

This is a form of his family's commitment to be free from project games, buying and selling positions and licensing.

"I have emphasized to all families, from wives, children to siblings, they should not be involved in government matters, let alone playing projects, licensing, positions and others, if they trip, please take care of themselves," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Wednesday, November 6.

He wanted to show the public about his commitment before and after he served as regent three years ago, so the case against his younger brother, Herman, said that he did not give or allow his family to play government projects.

Herman hopes that DL, who has been named a suspect and detained, can be an example for other parties, including officials within the Cianjur Regency Government, so that they can avoid dirty practices carried out by their family members.

"I, as the regent, have never taken care of a project, this is proof of my commitment if anyone plays the risk of dealing with the law because I have never divided projects in the service for close people," he said.

He emphasized that he would not intervene with the police in the case that happened to his younger brother, his party would respect the legal process that went through with the hope that in the future there would be no more similar things to do.

As previously reported, the Cianjur Resort Police Satreskrim, named and detained the sister of the Cianjur Regent, DL as a suspect in alleged fraud and embezzlement with victims' losses reaching Rp. 500 million under the pretext of being given a job at the Cianjur Regency Government.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cianjur Police, AKP Tono Listianto, said that the criminal act committed by DL occurred in 2018, but victim YS only reported allegations of fraud and embezzlement to the Cianjur Police in 2023.

"The victim reported the suspect because he had not fulfilled his promise to provide a job at the Cianjur Public Works Office or Cianjur Public Works Office at this time," he said.

Based on the victim's report, on January 2, 2018, the perpetrator asked to be sent Rp500 million as an administrative fee through his account at Bank BNI Cianjur, so that the victim would get a number of projects or work in the service.

Until 2023 the promise was never fulfilled, even the victim asked that the money was returned not fulfilled, so the victim chose to report the case, so the police sent two flares of calls but the suspect was not present.
