Singer Tyka Nelson, Prince's Biological Sister Dies

JAKARTA - Prince's legendary singer Tyka Nelson reportedly passed away on Monday, November 4, at the age of 64. This sad news was confirmed by his son, President Nelson, to the local media Minnesota Star Tribune.

Tyka Nelson, who was born in Minneapolis in 1960, grew up in a musician's family and was inspired to follow in his family's footsteps. He has released four albums throughout his career, including "Royal Blue" (1988), "Yellow Moon, Red Sky" (1992), "A Brand New Me" (2008), and "Hustler" (2011).

Tyka Nelson's death came eight years after the departure of his brother Prince, who died in 2016 from a pain-reducing drug overdose. Previously, in June 2023, Tyka had shared a story about her last conversation with Prince. He revealed that Prince looked thinner and reluctant to discuss his personal problems.

In an interview in June 2023, Nelson revealed interesting details about his last interaction with Prince. Despite looking healthy from the outside, Nelson felt a sense of anxiety in his brother.

"I feel something is hidden by Prince," he said, quoted from NME, November 6.

That feeling got stronger when Prince avoided questions about his health. In fact, in their last meeting, Prince instead asked Nelson for help seeking information about other family members, as if he was diverting attention from his personal problems.

Nelson left two sons named President and Sir, two sisters, Sharon and Norrine Nelson and a brother, Omarr Baker.
