Minister Of Komdigi Calls Online Gambling Suspects Not Echelon 1 Official Or Echelon
Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid said that his ministry employees who became suspects in online gambling were not echelon 1 officials or echelon 2. However, Meutya did not want to reveal the names of 11 suspects because it was the authority of the police.
"As far as I know, it's not (not echelon 1 or 2). However, those who know exactly are also in the police. But as far as I know, there is no echelon 1 or echelon 2," said Meutya, Tuesday, November 5.
"(Meanwhile) the names (suspects) are in the police, sir, we cannot open them because of all their status, their investigation is with the police," he continued.
Meutya said that the names of 11 employees who were suspects in the judol case had been verified by the Ministry of Communication and Industry in collaboration with the police.
"So if the name is clear, we will immediately deactivate it. Then later when the detention letter has been officially issued, we will temporarily stop the civil servants," he said.

Meutya explained that the development of the investigation was the result of the final coordination between the Ministry of Komdigi and the National Police Chief. He could not confirm where the case would stop. According to him, the suspect could still increase.
"The point is we have to be ready with how big the impact this scale has on our ministry, how long it will take. The point is we have to be ready," said Meutya.
