Ridwan Kamil Calls The 2024 Jakarta Pilkada More Cool Than When Anies And Ahok Fight
JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor of Jakarta number 01, Ridwan Kamil said that the atmosphere of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada took place cooler than the previous Pilkada. Where in the 2017 Pilkada, when Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) fought the situation heated up.
"The election is only a few weeks away, but if I'm honest, Jakarta's election is relatively cooler than 5 years ago. Even this is more than other provinces," said Ridwan Kamil, Tuesday, November 5.
Apparently, the assessment was not personal. Ridwan Kamil said it was a comment from the Diocese of the Cathedral.
"This is what comments from the diocese cathedral, Jakarta is relatively (symmetric)," he said.
Although, the former Governor of West Java admitted that there were a few ripples and misunderstandings. He also apologized for his deputy, Suswono, who had issued controversial statements regarding the 'unemployment' and 'Nabi Muhammad Saw'.
"Although there are dynamics, I have repeatedly apologized, his name is also a human and he is a scientific ustad, which may be where joking is not easily accepted," he said.

Ridwan Kamil ensured that his party would focus more on Jakarta's problems. Such as poverty, unemployment, and making Jakarta the center of the economy.
"Let us focus on the main thing on how to overcome poverty, become a global city. My hope is that elections will focus on Indonesian democracy, it's still young. So I personally hope that the Jakarta Pilkada will hopefully become a model," he concluded.
