Minister Of Law: Jakarta Is Still The National Capital, IKN Waits For It To Be Completed

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas emphasized that the relocation of the capital city from Jakarta to the archipelago is waiting for readiness from the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

"The law on DKJ (Special Jakarta Region) has no problem. IKN also has no problem. Because it depends on its readiness," said Supratman at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 4.

Supratman said that currently Jakarta is still the capital city of the state.

The transfer of the capital city from Jakarta to the archipelago, he said, after President Prabowo Subianto signed a presidential decree related to the relocation of the capital city to IKN.

"Jakarta is still the capital city of the country for a while, even though the transfer process will eventually be determined by when the President will sign the transfer issue," he said.

Previously, the 7th president of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, said that the movement of the capital city must ensure the readiness of all supporting infrastructure such as hospitals, educational facilities ranging from kindergarten, elementary, junior high school/vocational school to universities, and there needs to be a crowd center such as restaurants and stalls.

"The problem with logistics, where we are looking for something, where we are looking for something, wanting to buy goods, everything must be ready. If now the apartment is ready, but the office is not yet, what are you going to do," said Jokowi.

Therefore, Jokowi said that the presidential decree should be signed when all of these things are ready, namely in the era of Prabowo Subianto's leadership.
