Unclear, This Is What The Minister Of Industry Said About Electric Motor Incentives Next Year
JAKARTA - The government will provide an incentive for an electric motorbike of IDR 7 million in 2024, but for next year there is still no clarity.
Previously, responding to the end of incentives in 2024, Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza conveyed good news regarding the continuation of the incentive program in purchasing electric motorcycles next year.
"God willing," he said, when asked about the extension of the 2025 electric motorcycle incentive program after the opening of the Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS) 2024 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Banten, Wednesday, October 30.
Recently, the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, admitted that until now there has been no budget for electric motorcycle incentives, but will see next year's budget allocation, whether it will be possible to continue the subsidy program.
"Meanwhile, there is no budget yet, but I think if possible later in 2025 there will be a budget adjustment that has been allocated to the Ministry of Industry, for incentives to buy electric motorcycles, I think it will be good," said Agus Gumiwang, when met in the Bekasi area, West Java, recently.

As is known, incentives for electric motors have been provided since 2023 and continue until this year. Based on data from the Information System for the Provision of Two-wheeled Electric Vehicle Purchase Assistance (SISAPIRa), this year's quota is 50 thousand units.
To get this incentive assistance, only one purchase of an electric motorbike can be used, and based on population identification data.
As previously reported by VOI, the Minister of Industry also plans to increase the quota for electric motor incentives. He said the program was part of downstreaming.
"If there is an additional budget, we will add it because it (the electric motorcycle subsidy program) is good," he said.
The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) budget ceiling for 2025 is set at IDR 2.5 trillion, which is a decrease in the number.
As a result of the budget reduction, the Ministry of Industry must make adjustments to existing programs. Including, the distribution of electricity motor subsidies.
"I don't complain (the budget is decreasing), but the facts are like that. So, there must be adjustments to priority programs," concluded Agus.
