2024 MotoGP Standings: Jorge Martin's Chance To Win The World

JAKARTA The chances of Prima Pramac Racing rider, Jorge Martin, to win the 2024 MotoGP world title are much greater than his rival, Francesco Bagnaia.

Currently Martin sits comfortably at the top of the standings with a collection of 485 points. He is 24 points ahead of Bagnaia with one remaining draw in this season's calendar.

Martin actually has a match point to become world champion in the Malaysian Grand Prix race which ends on Sunday, November 3, 2024. However, the reality is not what the scenario is expected.

In the race, Martin had won the Sprint Race and Bagnaia returned empty-handed as a result of falling. However, in the main race (race) Bagnaia came out as the winner.

The victory of the defending champion made Martin have to postpone his title party. However, he is now in the top of the wind when the last series took place in Catalunya, Barcelona.

With the current advantages of points, Martin only needs to add 14 points to ensure the first world title in his career.

Achievement of 14 points in the last series is the only Martin to ensure the title even though Bagnaia gets a maximum of 37 points left.

If he adds only 13 points and Bagnaia gets maximum points, then Martin will lose the title in sight.

If that happens, the two riders will have the same number of points 498. However, Bagnaia is entitled to world champions because it is recorded as winning the Grand Prix the most.

Yesterday's victory in Malaysia was Bagnaia's 10th victory. Meanwhile, Martin has only won three consecutive times in Portugal, France, and the Mandalika Circuit.

The safest way for Martin is to win the Sprint Race in the final series later. This situation will make him even safer even though Bagnaia came out victorious in the main race.

By winning the Sprint Race, Martin can still become world champion even though he finished 14th in the main race.

This scenario makes Martin will collect 499 points that Bagnaia can't definitely catch up with.

Last year, Martin also competed with Bagnaia, but had to settle for being runner-up.
