KPK Asked To Seriously Investigate Allegations Of Corruption By East Lampung Regent

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was asked to investigate allegations of corruption allegedly committed by the East Lampung Regent Dawam Rahardjo. This incumbent had gone viral for showing off billions of rupiah in cash.

"We ask the KPK to check, step down (investigating, red) regarding the tens of billions owned by the East Lampung Regent M. Dawam Rahardjo," said representatives of the East Lampung Regency Anti-Corruption Community Forum, M Sanif Sinida to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, November 4.

The KPK is expected to follow up on the report that was submitted by his party on October 30, continued Sanif. This is because there are allegations that the incumbent candidate in the East Lampung Pilbup has money related to a number of projects.

"Our suspicion is that the tens of billions of money are the result of criminal acts of corruption and gratification resulting from project fees from 2021-2024. Well, because the LHKPN reported by Dawam Rahardjo is only IDR 7 billion, while the funds on display are tens of billions," he explained.

Furthermore, he ensured that his insistence on the anti-corruption commission was not related to the Pilkada. "In fact, we are worried that tens of billions of funds could damage democracy in an unaligned way, such as money politics," said Sanif.

"We don't know, the item was prepared," he concluded.
