Klaten Police Carry Out Food Self-Sufficiency and Increase Environmental Love Mission

KLATEN - The Klaten regional police support the government's efforts towards national food self-sufficiency. The support was realized by the Klaten Police by utilizing empty land by planting fruit trees while instilling a love for the environment in children.

The movement in the effort for national food self-sufficiency was realized with the love and care for the environment of the Klaten Police in the one child one plant program. The activity was carried out simultaneously in three places in Klaten, namely the Apius Prayer Park in Tegalyoso, Ngrendeng Lor Hamlet, Sobayan Village and residents' yards in Jatinom, Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Klaten Police Chief AKBP Warsono said that this fruit tree planting movement was to maximize the potential of the land in order to support food security in Klaten Regency. This is in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita commitment in order to realize food self-sufficiency.

"This is a follow-up to the government's program in an effort to achieve food self-sufficiency. Therefore, we are trying to utilize empty land for the program. For now, the program is being implemented in three different places in Klaten," said the Police Chief.

Police Chief Warsono also added that the food security program is expected to be able to encourage increased productivity in the agricultural sector. In addition, this program is expected to have a positive impact on local and national food security.

"We are working with local residents. Through this collaboration, at least we can maximize the potential of the land to support food security in Klaten Regency. I hope this program will continue," he said.

The Police Chief, further, said that the trees planted consisted of avocado, longan, rambutan, mango and water apple. Thus, when they have grown large and bear fruit, these trees do provide benefits to the community because they can be harvested.

In this program, the Police are collaborating with children from Kemala Bhayangkari 59 Kindergarten Klaten. This is a form of instilling a love for the environment from an early age. No less than 33 tree seedlings were planted in one location. The Head of Bhayangkari Klaten Branch, Vava Warsono, who also accompanied this activity expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the children involved in the tree planting activity.

"They are instilled with a love for the environment. Love for this earth. They are also taught to care about the environment," he said.

"Through this activity, it is hoped that a higher environmental awareness will grow among children as the next generation of the nation," said the Police Chief again.

Through this tree planting activity, the Klaten Police hope to provide a real contribution to environmental sustainability while educating the younger generation to care more about nature.
