Google Meet Presents Adaptive Audio Features, Eliminates Gema During Virtual Meetings

JAKARTA - Google introduced a new feature called "audio adaptive" to improve audio quality at virtual meetings in Meet, during the Google Cloud Next 2024 event last August.

Now, Google announces that adaptive audio is available to Google Workspace subscribers with add-on Gemini for Workspace. You can test Gemini for Workspace for 60 days at no cost.

Google says that this feature allows every laptop in the same room to operate as an integrated audio system, eliminating audio problems layered and echoed.

Google mengaku kalau fitur ini sudah dikembangkan selama sejak saat pandemi, ketika banyak pekerjaan yang beralih ke model kerja hybrid.

With adaptive audio, Google Meet can now sync microphones and speakers between devices, ensuring the sound sounds clearly without interruptions and removing echoes.

After Meet detected multiple laptops, the adaptive audio was activated automatically, syncping all microphones and laptop speakers without turning off any speakers, the search giant wrote in its official blog.

In addition, Meet uses backend processing and cloud noise damping to improve audio quality and eliminate background noise before transmitting audio to other participants.

"In the future, the team will continue to explore ways to help people connect more easily, especially when the conference hardware or meeting room is not available," he concluded.
