Huawei Rises To The Position Of Four Of The World's Largest Tablet Manufacturers In The Third Quarter Of 2024

JAKARTA Huawei managed to record itself in the top four on the list of global tablet manufacturers in the third quarter of 2024, according to a recent report from the International Data Corporation (IDC). This achievement marks a new milestone for technology giants from China who recorded 44.1% annual growth in the global tablet market.

In that quarter, Huawei delivered 3.3 million tablets, which control the global market share. This achievement, according to IDC, was achieved after Huawei diversified its products strategically. Over the past nine months, Huawei has launched a number of tablet models aimed at various segments of users, from low to professional budget consumers.

The Tablet MatePad SE 11 of Huawei, at competitive prices, is said to be the main attraction for consumers. Huawei's aggressive strategy in presenting high-value products seems to have succeeded in attracting market interest.

Huawei's entry into the top five is a significant development in the tablet market. The aggressive price strategy and focus on high-value products clearly attract new customers, suggesting that consumers are now more open to finding alternatives in this sector," said Senior Research Analyst at IDC, Anuroopa Natraj.

Apple Dominates World Tablet Market

However, Apple still maintains its top position as tablet market leader with shipments of 12.6 million units, an annual increase of 1.4%. Although the iPad Pro failed to attract great interest due to the premium price, the promo Back to School managed to boost sales of the iPad Air, which helped strengthen Apple's market share at 31.8%.

In second place, Samsung recorded a shipment of 7.1 million units, controlling a market share of 17.9%. One of its flagship products, the Galaxy A9, managed to perform well in many areas thanks to affordable prices.

Amazon and Lenovo completed the top five with shipments of 4.6 million and 3 million units, respectively. Interestingly, the global tablet market overall grew healthy by 20.4% in the third quarter, with total shipments reaching 39.6 million units.

Anuroopa Natraj predicts that innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) technology will continue to affect consumer purchase decisions in the future. With the increasing number of AI features applied to tablets, it is likely that consumers will be more willing to invest their funds in devices that offer these advanced features.

Huawei appears to have taken a major step in creating innovations and meeting market needs, which made it a success in capturing the attention of tablet users around the world.
