Casio Launches G-SHOCK Urban Utility Series: Environmentally Friendly Watches For Urban Lifestyle
JAKARTA Casa officially released the latest watch series, the G-SHOC Urban Utility Series, which combines resilience, function, and environmentally friendly materials for urban consumers. This series consists of four models with two major variants: a more sophisticated classical DW-5610UU and GA-B2100LUU. All models in this collection use biomass plastics for bezels and clock straps, in line with Casio's commitment to environmental sustainability.
The DW-5610UU model is available in green and gray, has layered bezels with inverse LCD views that facilitate reading in low-luminosity conditions, and is equipped with a Super Illuminator LED backlight for better visibility.
Meanwhile, GA-B2100LUU comes in beige and gray with two-color bezels and double prints that add to the deep visual impression. The model is also equipped with carbon fiber casings that strengthen clock resistance without adding weight.
Technology and Functionality
The G-SHOC Urban Utility Series is designed for daily needs with shock-resistant features and the Carbon Core Guard which adds resistance. With the ability to last up to 20 ATMs, this watch is suitable for daily activities and extreme activities.

All models are also integrated with Bluetooth connections, allowing users to sync watches with the CASIO WATCHES app for automatic time adjustments, world time access in more than 300 cities, reminders, and mobile phone search features. Urban Utility Series uses Tough Solar technology that supports solar energy charging, and in power saving mode, this watch can last up to 18 months without sunlight.
Prices and Availability
The G-SHOC Urban Utility Series will be released in Japan in November 2024. The DW-5610UU model is priced at 15,400 yen (around Rp1.5 million), while the GA-B2100LUU model will sell for 25,850 yen (around Rp2.7 million). Casio has not announced availability in the global market.
In addition, Casio celebrated 50 years since the launch of Casaotron, the world's first digital clock with an automatic calendar, releasing a limited edition of Casatron TRN-50ZE-1A. This clock comes with a black and gold design, a stainless steel case, and an elegant gold accent as a tribute to the original innovation launched in 1974.
