Responding To Cafe Destruction In Solo, Vice President Gibran: Hopefully This Incident Won't Happen Again
JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka responded to the case of the destruction of a cafe on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Solo, Central Java, which was carried out by a number of people in the early hours of Friday (1/11).
Previously, a video of the vandalism incident was circulated by an unknown number of people at a cafe in Solo. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras (CCTV).
He asked related parties to ensure similar incidents do not happen again in the future.
"Hopefully this incident will not happen again," said Gibran while visiting the Gatot Subroto area, Solo, Saturday, as quoted by Antara.
"I ask for help for the forkompimda, the guardian, the Dandim, the police chief, all elements here to work together so that incidents like this don't happen again," he said.
The vice president asked all parties to create a safe and comfortable situation for the community.
"Let's work together so that Solo is more secure, comfortable, and the newcomers who attend are more comfortable," he said.
Moreover, the existence of the Gatot Subroto Corridor provides fresh air for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

On the CCTV footage, several people were seen riding a number of motorbikes throwing something at the cafe and soon the flames appeared. In the video, someone was also caught screaming for mercy.
Regarding the incident, the Head of the Surakarta Police, Police Commissioner Iwan Saktiadi, said that his party had received the incident report on Friday (1/11) at 04.00 WIB.
"So, there are residents who report that one of the outlets in Gatsu daily selling food and beverage has been damaged and it is not identified who (the perpetrator) is," he said.
As a follow-up, the police have taken CCTV to check. "We checked along the path we predicted. So far we are still investigating the perpetrator," he said.
The police identified that there were six motorbikes each riding two people.
"Later, we will convey further developments. Meanwhile, based on preliminary evidence, including our information regarding the incident. This is our capital for further investigation, for us to reveal the incident," he said.
