Israel Will Soon End Land Attacks In Lebanon

JAKARTA - Israeli state media reported that intensive ground attack operations in southern Lebanon would soon end.

Citing military sources, Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation on Friday night reported that after a month of ground attacks, the Israeli military was close to completing an intensive phase in southern Lebanon.

Thousands of active and reserve troops have also reportedly been given leave for recovery.

The state-owned media also reported that Israel was preparing to deploy troops along the Lebanese border amid a discourse on a ceasefire mediated by the United States.

Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati criticized Israel's approach to meeting with UNIFIL commander, the UN temporary force in Lebanon.

According to him, diplomatic signals from Israel show "difficult nature" and their commitment to continue to carry out aggression.

Israel has stepped up airstrikes in Lebanon since September on the pretext of crushing the Hezbollah group, nearly a year after the Zionist regime launched a blind attack on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian enclave.

Israel expanded the conflict in Gaza by launching an attack on southern Lebanon on October 1. Nearly 2,900 people were killed and more than 13,000 others injured by Israeli forces in the conflict.
