DKI Jakarta KPU Finds 51,234 Damaged Ballots

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) found that a total of 51,234 ballots were lacking and damaged for the election of governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta in 2024.

"The number of shortages and ballots damaged throughout DKI Jakarta is 51,234 pieces," said Head of the DKI Jakarta KPU Planning and Logistics Division Nelvia Gustina, quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 2.

The DKI KPU, said Nelvia, communicates with the provider so that it can meet the needs of a maximum ballot on November 6, 2024.

The number of ballots for the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada) is 8,425,775. This number comes from the number of permanent Voters Lists (DPT), namely 8,214,007 plus 2.5 percent of reserve ballots calculated by rounding up at each polling station (TPS).

"In addition, 2,000 ballots were produced, and this has not been distributed to district/city KPUs, but is stored at the provincial KPU in the event of a re-voting (PSU)," explained Nelvia.

Meanwhile, the ballot printing process took place last October, followed by a sorting process and folding ballots at KPU five of the city administrations of Jakarta and the Thousand Islands which were completed on October 30, 2024.

"The factor in ballots in six districts and cities throughout DKI Jakarta has been completed on October 30, 2024, according to the schedule determined by the provincial KPU," said Nelvia.

Furthermore, he added, the distribution of the pilkada logistics handover from the regency and city KPU to the sub-district election committee (PPK) on November 14, 2024, was marked by News of the Handover of Recipient/City KPU to PPK.

"Distribution to TPS will be no later than D-1 (before voting day)," said Nelvia.

The 2024 Jakarta Pilkada vote will be held on November 27, 2024. The Jakarta Pilkada this time was followed by the candidate pair (paslon) governor and deputy governor number 1 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO), candidate pair number 2 Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana (Dharma-Kun) and candidate pair number 3 Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (Pram-Doel).
