Commission I Of The House Of Representatives Will Discuss Regulations And Depoksi Of The Ministry In Eradicating Judol

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I DPR RI Rizki Aulia Rahman Natakusumah said the issue regarding regulatory clarity to the division of tasks, principal, and functions (tupoksi) of ministries/agencies in overcoming online gambling (judol) will be discussed in Commission I of the DPR RI.

"The legislation must also be clear, the distribution of the main tasks of the ministry and its institutions must also be clear, where the Komdigi moves, Cyber Police (Directorate of Cyber Crime at Bareskrim Polri) where the BSSN (Syber and State Password Agency) is also moving. Now, this will be the issue of discussion at Commission I," said Rizki in Bogor, West Java, quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 2.

This was conveyed in response to the online gambling case which is still popping up in the country. Most recently, the arrest of 11 online gambling suspects who are employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemenkomdigi).

He hopes that the Ministry of Communication and Trade can boost its programs to ground and educate policies related to eradicating online gambling to the public.

"The community must be able to be better educated because as well as the law, as well as possible, as long as it is not bottom up, as long as it is not rooted or starts from grassroots, it seems difficult for the community to be optimal," he said.

He also hopes that his party can coordinate more intensively with the working partners of Commission I of the DPR RI, including the Directorate of Cyber Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) in eradicating online gambling in the country.

He also appreciated the firmness of the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid in responding to an online gambling case involving 11 suspects in his ministry.

"He has said it seems that he will not play games if there are ranks in his ministry who are involved in online gambling," he said.

He added that efforts to eradicate online gambling in the country have been emphasized some time ago by Commission I of the DPR RI together with the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) which has now become the Ministry of Communication and Industry.

"In the future, Commission I will be headed by a new leader, there will also be many new members, ministers as well as new ministers, I believe the enthusiasm is even stronger to eradicate judol," he said.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya arrested 11 suspects in an online gambling case involving unscrupulous Kemkomdigi employees in Bekasi City, West Java.

"These are 11 people, some of whom are unscrupulous Kemkomdigi employees, among others, there are also expert staff from Komdigi," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Police Ade Ary Syam Indradi when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday (1/10).

Kombes Pol. Ade Ary explained that the Komdigi Ministry employee has the authority to check online gambling webs to block them. However, they abuse their authority by not blocking online gambling sites.
