Anindya Bakrie: Prabowo's Visit To The APEC Summit In Brazil Is A Great Opportunity To Attract Investment

Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie said that President Prabowo Subianto's agenda to the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 in Brazil was a great opportunity to attract investment.

"What is the importance for Indonesia? One, of course, can bring ease of investment to Indonesia which is really needed or FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) can be mentioned," said Anindya after holding the Gala Dinner with the ambassador of a friendly country in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday 2 November.

He hopes that Prabowo's visit will bring the much-needed FDI to support the economic growth and transformation of the Indonesian industry.

According to Anindya, President Prabowo's diplomatic visit also opens up new opportunities to expand the international trade market for Indonesian products.

In addition to attracting investment, Anindya emphasized the importance of collaboration with new trading partners that can improve Indonesia's export performance.

For him, Indonesia needs to focus its industry on exports and take advantage of opportunities from global partners to accelerate industrialization.

"And the third, I think it is also important to jointly prioritize export-based industrialization, a industry that is full of transformation," said Anindya.

Anindya revealed that she will accompany President Prabowo who will make visits to several countries, such as China and the United States.

Then in Peru to attend the High Level Conference (KTT) of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation or Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC); then Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the G20 agenda; and scheduled to end in the UK.

"Mr. President (Prabowo Subianto) next week will start a visit to several countries. Starting from of course China, the United States, Peru for APEC and also Brazil for the G20 and ending perhaps in UK (United Kingdom) or UK," he said.

According to Anindya, Indonesia has an important role when attending the G20 in Brazil, because it does not represent its own country in the international meeting but ASEAN.

"Then also in APEC in Lima, Peru, they see Indonesia as the leader of ASEAN," said Anindya.

Previously, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said President Prabowo Subianto would make visits abroad, including attending the APEC Summit forum in Peru and the G20 in Brazil in November 2024.

"There is an invitation, there is the G20, there is APEC, as the head of state, he must definitely attend," said the Minister of State Secretary at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 29.

The Minister of State Secretary said that Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will lead the government as long as President Prabowo Subianto travels abroad.
