In Addition To The IPhone 16 Series, The Ministry Of Industry Also Bans Google Pixel Sales In Indonesia
JAKARTA - In addition to the iPhone 16 Series, the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Industry also prohibits buying and selling devices from Google, namely Pixel phones and Google One.
Just like the reason the Ministry of Industry has banned the entry of the iPhone 16 Series into Indonesia, Ministry of Industry Spokesperson Febri Hendri Antoni Arif said that Google Pixel does not yet have a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) certificate.
"Regarding the iPhone 16 series and Apple products and we add more, there are also other products, these are products from Google, Google Pixel and Google One," Febri said as quoted from the Ministry of Industry's YouTube channel, Friday, November 1.
However, Febri also explained that these products can still be purchased from abroad with a mechanism for passenger luggage and shipping in accordance with Article 35 of Government Regulation Number 46 of 2021, with the condition that one passenger has a maximum of two items in one year.

During 2024, data from the Ministry of Industry recorded that the number of Google Pixel and Google One that entered through passenger luggage and shipments was almost 22 thousand units.
"Because through the mechanism of passenger luggage and shipping goods, it is permissible because it uses Article 35 BP46 of 2021. Now what is not allowed is that when it has entered the country, in Indonesia, it is traded," he said.
His party will also continue to monitor the sale and purchase of products from the two technology giants in e-commerce. If the Ministry of Industry finds the device's equipment for sale, it will be considered a violation, and the government can also revoke IMEI from the product.
