The Electability Of Masinton Pasaribu-Mahmud Efendi Unggul In The Central Tapanuli Pilkada Survey

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Election Study Institute (LKPI) released the results of a survey related to political preferences for candidate pairs for Regent and Deputy Regent in the 2024 Central Tapanuli Pilkada. As a result, the Masinton Pasaribu-Mahmud Efendi pair outperformed Khairul Kiye's pair in Pasaribu-Darwin Sitompul.

"The survey results show that the electability rate in response to the top of mind of the Masinton Pasaribu-Mahmud Efendi pair reached 41.2 percent. Meanwhile, the Khairul Kiye pair in Pasaribu-Darwin Sitompul was selected at 30.6 percent and 28.2 percent did not answer," said the Executive Director, LKPI Togu Lubis in his statement, Thursday, October 31.

Meanwhile, in a survey conducted by voting through the silent ballot paper and if the Central Tapanuli election is held today, the Masinton Pasaribu-Mahmud Efendi pair is chosen at 52.6 percent. Then the Khairul Kiye pair in Pasaribu-Darwin Sitompul were selected at 38.3 percent and 9.1 percent did not choose.

The survey results also show the level of introduction of the people of Central Tapanuli to the two pairs of candidates. As a result, the pair pair Masinton Pasaribu-Mahmud Efendi, which was promoted by PDIP and Labor, was known by 82.7 percent of respondents.

"Which means 8 out of 10 respondents know very well the Masinton Pasaribu-Mahmud Efendi pair. Then in terms of the level of preference of the people of Central Tapanuli for the Masinton Pasaribu-Mahmud Efendi pair, it reaches 81.2 percent," said Togu.

Meanwhile, its competitors, continued Togu, Khairul Kiyedi Pasaribu-Darwin Sitompul, which was promoted by NasDem, Golkar, Gerindra, PAN, Democrats, PKS, Perindo, and the United Nations, are known to 78.7 percent of the respondents. The survey also found that 89.1 percent wanted regents and deputy regents who had a clean track record from corruption. A total of 76.2 percent wanted regents and deputy regents who have networks to the central government and the Indonesian House of Representatives to receive adequate APBD support for the construction of infrastructure facilities and infrastructure in Central Tapanuli.

Then, 60.1 percent want the Regent and Deputy Regent who can solve farmer problems related to subsidized fertilizers as well as agricultural supporting facilities and infrastructure.

"Furthermore, as much as 50.2 percent of the Regent and Deputy Regent were able to improve the welfare of fishermen with the program of providing capital assistance and fishing gear to fishermen," explained Togu.

The LKPI survey was conducted in the period 20-28 October 2024 through face-to-face interviews involving 1,150 respondents spread proportionally in 20 sub-districts in Central Tapanuli Regency.

Sampel withdrawal using the Multistage random sampling method is based on the number of DPT Pilkada Central Tapanuli Regency as many as 251,730 voters.

Data collection uses an open interview method with respondents and is assisted by a quasioner paper and a DUmmy for the 2024 Central Tapanuli Pilkada Election. The results of this survey have a Margin Of Error +/- 2.88 with a Trust Level of 95 percent.
