Denny Indrayana-Uncle Birin's Rematch In Pilgub Kalsel, Campaign Banned
BANJARMASIN - The Electoral Commission (KPU) of Tapin, South Kalimantan, imposed a ban on campaigns by the winning team on the implementation of the re-vote (PSU) of Pilgub Kalsel.
Chairman of KPU Tapin Hj Henny Hendriyanti said that in the period before the implementation of PSU on June 9, 2021, in accordance with the Election Commission Regulation (PKPU) there should be no campaign.
"In PKPU 18 article 71 of 2021, in the implementation of PSU there is no campaign period for the winning team of candidates," he explained as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 7.
Chairman of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) Tapin Thessa Aji Budiono confirmed the statement. As a first step Bawaslu will make preventive efforts to prevent violations.
"We have sent a letter to each winning team both paslon 1 and paslon 2 in Tapin District, which states that the campaign has not been conducted since the reading of the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) until the implementation of PSU on June 09, 2021," said Thessa.
According to him, according to a letter from the Chairman of Bawaslu RI number 335 of 2021, for the Supervisory Committee (Panwas) that there is a PSU will be reactivated if it is still eligible.
"Both from panwaslu sub-district, panwaslu village or village and tps supervisors in Binuang subdistrict that there is PSU. If anyone is no longer eligible, a replacement will be made," he said.
The Constitutional Court (MK) had previously overturned the decision of the South Kalimantan KPU on the results of the recapitulation of the victory of Pilgub Kalsel Sahbirin Noor (Uncle Birin) and Muhidin. Mk ordered a re-vote (PSU) in 7 districts of South Kalimantan. The candidate for Governor of Kalsel who sued uncle Birin's victory, Denny Indrayana was grateful for the court's decision.
The decision was read by the court judge at the verdict hearing related to the disputed election results (PHPU) Pilgub Kalsel in the MK building, Friday, March 19. The lawsuit was filed by Denny Indrayana-Difriadi Darjat.
The seven sub-districts that decided to hold a re-vote (PSU) were South Banjarmasin Subdistrict in Banjarmasin City and five subdistricts in Banjar Regency and 24 Polling Stations (TPS) in Binuang Subdistrict, Tapin Regency.
