Pursuing Food Swasembada Target, Pupuk Indonesia Provides Farmer Training Through Kartini Tani
JAKARTA - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is trying to pursue the food self-sufficiency target launched by President Prabowo Subianto. One way is to provide training to farmer women through the Kartini Tani program.
The training provided has yielded results. Kartini Tani began to harvest organic rice by 9 tons per hectare (Ha) on the Agro Eduwisata Organic Mulyaharja land, South Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java, today. This number has increased by about 34 percent from the previous cultivation.
In this cultivation in Mulyaharja, Pupuk Indonesia applies NPK Phonska Alam fertilizer. This fertilizer is made from natural mineral ingredients that can be used in organic agricultural systems. It contains nutrients N, P, and K that are easily dissolved, balanced, and standardized so that quality is guaranteed.
The Marketing Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Tri Wahyudi Saleh, said that Kartini Tani is a collaboration program to support the acceleration of food self-sufficiency.
Tri said Kartini Tani was one of Pupuk Indonesia's initiatives as well as to strengthen the role of women in the agricultural industry, so as to be able to drive the welfare and food security of the community.
Tri said that in Mulyaharja, Pupuk Indonesia provides guidance to the Ciharashas Women's Group (KWT). Kartini Tani here receives training for increased competence related to organic rice farming, hydroponic plants and horticultural plants.
Not only that, Tri said Kartini Tani also received cultivation assistance and received fertilization recommendations to ensure increased agricultural productivity. This includes obtaining post-harvest monitoring, and marketing assistance for agricultural products.
Indonesian fertilizers also help extend organic rice certification to support increasing added value and competitiveness through organic products that we submit today. Today's organic agriculture is very potential, considering that organic product demand is also getting bigger along with the increasing understanding of healthy lifestyles," Tri said.
Tri said Pupuk Indonesia has developed an organic and biological-based product ecosystem to support sustainable agriculture. He said this step is important for long-term use to maintain the health of the agricultural ecosystem as a whole.
"Pupuk Indonesia believes that by providing various organic fertilizers for healthy agriculture, it is able to achieve Indonesia's food security," he said.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of Pupuk Indonesia PIKA, Tata Rahmad Pribadi, explained that the Kartini Tani program in Mulyaharja was introduced since February 3, 2024.

Kartini Tani in the area is carried out specifically, according to the needs of each KWT, such as dragon fruit commodities, melons, chilies, and others.
