The Progress Of The Jlantah Dam In Karanganyar Reaches 93.25 Percent, Target Inaugurated January 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) reports that the physical progress of the construction of the Jlantah Dam in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, has reached 93.25 percent.

The dam was built by contractors PT Waskita Karya (Persero) and PT Adhi Karya KSO with a contract value of IDR 1.02 trillion.

The dam is targeted to be inaugurated in January 2025.

The Directorate General of Water Resources at the Ministry of Public Works is committed to accelerating the completion of dam construction.

"We are committed to completing it," said Director General of Water Resources at the Ministry of Public Works Bob Arthur Lombgia in his official statement, written Tuesday, October 29.

It is known, this dam has an inundation area of 50.45 hectares and a capacity of 10.97 million cubic meters sourced from the Jlantah and Sungai Puru rivers.

Construction of the dam is designed with a height of 70 meters (from the bottom of the river), a peak length of 404 meters, a peak width of 12 meters and an elevation of the peak of the dam +690 meters.

After completion, the Jlantah Dam can be used for various things.

First, as the supply of raw water of 150 liters per second for Jumapolo, Jumantono and Jatipuro sub-districts in Karanganyar Regency.

Second, irrigation water supply for the DI irrigation area covering an area of 1,494 hectares in Karanganyar Regency, covering 806 hectares of existing irrigation and 688 hectares of new irrigation.

Third, flood reduction of 70.33 cubic meters per second or 51.26 percent of the flood discharge for the 50th anniversary period.

Fourth, the potential for Micro Hydro Power Plants (PLTMH) is 0.625 mega watts. Lastly as a tourism potential.
