YouTube Music Introduces 'Speed Dial' Redesign For 'Listen Again' Features

JAKARTA - After more than a year of being introduced, YouTube Music has finally launched a new section called "Speed dial" in the Android and iOS apps, replacing the Listen again feature.

Instead of using 10\times2 carousels featuring only 6 works per screen, users can now enjoy a 3times3 grid covering a total of three pages of 27 songs, albums, artists, and playlists with round artworks.

When tapping a song, the playback starts without leaving the Home feed, because Now Playing is not rolling out. Users can also do long-press to access the additional menu.

Active songs will be marked by white lines around them, while others will open album pages, artists, or playlists. If there is a chevron/arrow under the name, the song will not be played immediately.

Users can click 'Speed dial' at the top to view traditional feeds with a larger display.

YouTube Music has been testing and developing Speed dials over the past 12 months, with an upgrade from 9 to 27 items as the biggest change. The goal is to "help you quickly explore and listen to the songs and artists you listen to."

Since Monday morning, October 28, users have started to see the extensive launch of the Speed dial feature on Android and iOS. You can refresh the Home tab or force the app to stop updating. Currently, there are no changes in music.youtube.com.
