Evaluation Of The 2024 Hajj Implementation, Ministry Of Transportation Reports There Are 157 Aligned Flight Groups

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) reported that there were 157 groups of 553 Hajj flight groups who experienced delays or delays in organizing the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

The number is the total number of hajj flight groups who experience delays or delays from phase 1 (departure) and phase 2 (return).

Acting Director General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation Lukman F Laisa revealed that on time performance (OTP) of phase 1 Hajj flights was 86.98 percent with 72 groups experiencing delays.

Meanwhile, continued Lukman, the OTP for phase 2 Hajj flights was 84.63 percent with a total delay of 85 clusters.

"Overall, we can convey on time the Hajj performance in 1445 Hijri or 2024 masehi in both phases of 85.80 percent. Where there is a delay in 157 flight groups," he said in a working meeting with Commission VIII DPR, Jakarta, Monday, October 28.

Even so, according to Lukman, the OTP for the 2024 Hajj flights has increased when compared to the 2023 Hajj pilgrimage.

Regarding flight delays, Lukman said that there were several factors. One of them is technical problems that occur in the plane.

The problems in question include a fuel leak on the plane, a burning engine, an auxiliary aircraft power unit, which is the problem that occurs in the air conditioner or air conditioner of the aircraft to the replacement of the aircraft wheels.

"So this causes a domino effect on the next flight schedule (hajj)," he said.

Not only technical problems, according to Lukman, operational problems also cause flight delays. He said the problem made changes to the departure time for the next flight.

The delay caused a change in slot time for the next flight. For example, aircraft rotation, game limitation, immigration process, weather problems, crew problems, ATC clearance, sick pilgrims, and so on," said Lukman.
