Pindad Ready To Produce Maung For Operational Vehicles Of The Minister Of The Red And White Cabinet

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pindad, Abraham Mose admitted that his party was able to produce Maung to be used as operational vehicle for the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government.

The use of Maung as ministerial operational vehicle is an instruction from President Prabowo Subianto.

"If the President has instructed this, Pindad must be able. Because of this directive, of course, it cannot be separated from the support in terms of production facilities to supporting infrastructure," he said in an official statement, Monday, October 28.

Pindad, continued Abraham, really appreciates President Prabowo Subianto's statement showing a strong commitment to empowering and using domestic products, and in the future own independent automotive industry.

"This is an extraordinary direction and concrete action from Mr. President Prabowo Subianto towards the alignment of the domestic industry by providing opportunities for us PT Pindad so that we have the car or automotive industry," said Abraham.

Furthermore, Abraham said that Pindad is currently still waiting for a follow-up to the directive.

"Because this is also related to the procurement process from each Ministry and agency," he explained.

Previously, it was reported that Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Anggito Abimanyu revealed that the vehicles that will be used by all ministers of the Red and White Cabinet and echelon 1 have a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of 70 percent.

"Later, if you look at it, yesterday's Maung, Professor Sigit from ITB, who is the President Director of Pindad, he conveyed and designed Indonesian cars. 70 percent of them are from domestic products," said Anggito at the virtual 15th & Lustrum Dies event at Gadjah Mada University Vocational School (UGM) 2024, Monday, October 28.

Anggito added that all ranks of the Red and White Cabinet and echelon 1 will use domestically made cars and are prohibited from using imported cars as official vehicles in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

"Next week I will use the Maung car, the Pindad car is because Pak Prabowo has said, next week there will be no more imported goods for Echelon 1 cars with the Minister," he said.
