Government Transition Don't Make Hajj Fail, Minister Of Religion Asks Commission VIII Of The DPR To Make Sure There Are No Disturbances
Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar said that the implementation of Hajj in the coming year should not fail just because of the transition from 2019-2024 to 2024-2029.
"In our opinion, Hajj should not fail just because of the transitional (governmental) problem," Nasaruddin said in a working meeting with Commission VIII DPR RI regarding the evaluation of the 2024 Hajj at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, October 28, which was confiscated by Antara.
In line with this, he continued, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) also asked for support and cooperation from Commission VIII of the DPR RI in ensuring that there were no disturbances in the implementation of the 2025 Hajj.
"I think we agree because it is the Ministry of Religion with all the risks and with the support of Mr. and Mrs. from Commission VIII, God willing, it is hoped that this year there will be no slight disturbance," he said.

It is known that during the new administration or under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the Hajj and Umrah Agency was formed as independent institutions separate from the Ministry of Religion so that the government could focus more on improving the implementation of worship to a safe and comfortable eucian land. The statement was made by the Head of the Hajj and Umrah Agency, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf.
"Hopefully, Mr. President, next year we can truly be independent, independent Hajj organizers. There are many hopes conveyed by the President for the implementation of the pilgrimage," he said.
There are two missions that Irfan is now carrying with his staff to fulfill Prabowo's expectations for improving Hajj and Umrah services, namely ensuring that all pilgrims depart safely and provide comfort during worship in the duci land.
Although for this year collaboration with the Hajj and Umrah Directorates of the Ministry of Religion will continue, Irfan targets the agency to operate independently starting next year.
Answering questions about organizing the Hajj independently, Irfan said that the target to be fully independent is still set in 2026.
