Komut Sritex Akui Penyebab Bisnisnya Anjlok Imbas Permendag 8 Tahun 2024

JAKARTA - Since the enactment of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 8 of 2024 regarding the relaxation of imports, the textile industry and textile products (TPT) have not been able to fully rise. Most recently, there is PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk or Sritex (SRIL) which was declared bankrupt because they could not pay debts.

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) said that the condition of the TPT industry had improved when the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 36 of 2023, which is now replaced by Permendag Number 8 of 2024.

President Commissioner of Sritex Iwan Setiawan Lukminto said, Permendag 8 made the textile industry too deep.

"Permendag 8 itu, kan, masalah klasik yang sudah tahu, ya, semua. Jadi, lihat saja pelaku industri textile ini banyak yang terkena (tutup). Banyak yang terdisrupsi terlalu dalam sampai ada yang terutup, ya. Jadi, sangat signifikan (dampaknya). Tetapi, itu semuanya kami handih ke kementerian untuk regulasinya," ujar Iwan saat ditemui wartawan di kantor Kemenperin, Senin, 28 Oktober.

"All regulations are in the ministry," he continued.

Previously, the boss of the Sritex (SRIL) textile issuer Iwan Setiawan Lukminto had held a special meeting with the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) office, today.

When met by reporters at the Ministry of Industry's office, Iwan admitted that he discussed a big strategy regarding the sustainability of the textile industry giant in Southeast Asia in the future.

"So, the term makes a big strategy. The point is that. How can everything be more sustainable (sustainable)," he said.

Iwan assessed that in planning this big strategy, his party did not want to be responsible.

Thus, the people involved in Sritex feel the impact firsthand.

"The good news is that (the plan) can be felt by the community directly, basically that," he said.
