Mobile Voice Boxes From The Jakarta Provincial KPU Will Serve Persons With Disabilities

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta KPU will increase the involvement of voters for the 2024 Pilkada. The mobile ballot box method will be presented to serve disabled voters.

"Later, there will be a mobile ballot box method, the term for which KPPS will tour the target house," said South Jakarta KPU chairman Muhammad Taqiyuddin when contacted in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, October 27.

Taqiyuddin said voters who could not come to the TPS because they had limitations such as chronic illness, disability, or even the elderly.

So, he continued, it is not possible to come to the TPS, we will use the mobile ballot box method to serve voters.

He hopes that as citizens, even though they have limitations, they can still choose future leaders.

"For example, suffering from a stroke and being registered at TPS 1, later there will be KPPS officers accompanied by the TPS Supervisor and witnesses to come to the house to choose to use a mobile ballot box," he explained.

Then, the South Jakarta KPU also ensures the availability of visually impaired aids at each polling station to facilitate disabilities when in the ballot booth.

Not only that, the voting committee was also deployed to actively record people with disabilities so that they can easily access the nearest TPS.

"We also emphasize to PPK, PPS, and KPPS friends to find polling stations where access is easy so that when there is a wheelchair, they can still pass through the route," he said.

Thus, the South Jakarta KPU continues to strive to maximize facilities and serve people with disabilities so that they can exercise their rights on November 27, 2024.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has appointed 57,881 people for disabled voters in the DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election.

Logistics that have so far been received by the South Jakarta KPU are 3,270 equipment, 3,270 boxes, 13,080 sound booths, 20,364 plastic seales, 117,918 paper seales and 6,540 inkers stored in Ecosystem Sarinah Warehouse, Pancoran.

The List of Permanent Voters (DPT) for the DKI Jakarta Pilkada on November 27, 2024 in South Jakarta was 1,748,961 voters consisting of 855,957 men and 893,004 women.

Then, there are 3,270 polling stations (TPS). As for the total DPT in DKI Jakarta, there are 8,214,007 voters and 14,935 polling stations.
