Ahead Of The Match Against The Indonesian National Team, Saudi Arabia Fires Mancini With A Severance Pay Of IDR 507 Billion
JAKARTA - Roberto Mancini received large severance pay from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). The allowance was received by the coach after his contract was terminated on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
As a form of compensation for the coach, SAFF is said to have to spend quite a bit. Moreover, the Italian coach's work contract is still in duration until 2027.
"Mancini's departure resulted in a considerable financial loss for SAFF, which was 30 million euros (around Rp507 billion), due to the termination of the contract," Koora media wrote in its narration quoted Friday, October 25, 2024.
Previously, it was known that Mancini's status as coach was announced to end on Thursday, October 24, 2024, WIB night. This is in line with the announcement via the official SAFF account on X.
In a statement, SAFF confirmed that Mancini's replacement coach will be announced in the near future. Some of the candidates who are said to be Saudi Arabia's new coaches are Herve Total, Tite, Jorge Jesus, Rui Vitoria, and Husein Ammouta.

Mancini officially became the coach of the Saudi Arabian national team on August 27, 2023. The 59-year-old coach replaced Saad Al Shehri, who is an interim coach.
Mancini's record as coach of the Saudi Arabian national team from 18 matches was seven wins, five draws, and six defeats.
Throughout those 18 matches, Saudi Arabia scored 26 goals and conceded 22 times.
Mancini was kicked out by SAFF after the Saudi Arabia national team performed poorly in the four Group C matches of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.
Saudi Arabia was only able to hold Indonesia to a 1-1 draw, a 2-1 win over China, a 0-2 loss to Japan, and a 1-1 draw against Bahrain.
Furthermore, the Saudi Arabian national team will fight Australia in Melbourne on November 14, 2024 and travel to the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, November 19, to fight the Indonesian national team.
