Hyundai Tidak Tebang Select Antara Segmen Hybrid Dengan EV Di Indonesia
JAKARTA - PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has officially launched the all-new Santa Fe in Indonesia. Not only that, this model is the first hybrid vehicle to be sold by companies in the country.
Although it has launched its first hybrid in Indonesia, this does not make this South Korean manufacturer forget the electric vehicle (EV) segment that they have explored earlier.
HMID Chief Operating Officer Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, said that his party would take a balanced approach between the hybrid and EV seeing the trend of both increasing.
I think hybrid and EV should go side by side, both of them experienced a spike from last year. Hybrids rose 50 percent and EVs doubled," said Frans when met at Plaza Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, October 24.
He argues that both have the same goal, namely reducing dependence on fossil fuels so that they can contribute to environmentally friendly.
"If the goal is emission or reduces dependence on fossil gasoline, the percentage should increase to achieve it," added Frans.

Frans is also optimistic that the hybrid market will continue to grow in Indonesia even though it does not have incentives such as electric vehicles (EVs). However, if the regulation is implemented, it will be a good stimulus for Indonesia's automotive market growth.
"If we take the initiative and the government encourages (with incentives), it will be very good," explained Frans.
The Hyundai all-new Santa Fe is offered in the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) variant with a Smartstream G1.6T-GDI HEV Turbo Hybrid engine which provides a maximum power of 235 ps.
For the price, the all-new Santa Fe variant of HEV is priced starting from IDR 786.3 million for the Prime type to IDR 869.6 million for Calligraphy. All prices include On The Road DKI Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Hyundai in Indonesia has several EV models such as Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and most recently is the all-new Kona Electric.
