Fame Comes At A Young Age, Lamine Yamal: Like A Dream

JAKARTA - Lamine Yamal's career has been up for the past year. He debuted at Barcelona in the 2022/2023 season.

In that season, Yamal only got one appearance. However, the winger immediately won full trust in the following season. His career has continued to rise since then.

The trust given by Hansi Flick was answered by Yamal. He shines and penetrates the Blaugrana first team.

He has made more than 60 appearances for Barcelona. Not only that, he is also a mainstay for the Spanish national team who won Euro 2024.

During that period, he had broken various records for his maturity. For example, the youngest goalscorers for Barca and Spain, as well as broke several record appearances and goalscorers at the Euros.

However, Yamal still wants to ground it. His achievements over the past year did not make him complacent.

"I usually don't really think about it, but now that I say it, yes, there are a lot of things that make you very happy."

"I hope there will be more that will come (appression)," said Yamal about all his records reported by ESPN.

As a result of his brilliant performance at a young age, his public profile in Spain has soared.

His Barcelona shirt numbered 19 shirt is one of the most selling at the club.

Yamal admitted that he did not expect the impact of his fame made in such a short time.

According to him, all the fame gained at the age of only 17 is like a dream.

"I was more or less aware of it when I made my debut. However, this summer was my golden age."

"Now you go to the airport and you see people wearing my T-shirts. You go around Barcelona and there are a lot of people (wearing my T-shirt)."

"My mother told me that when she took my brother to school, they were at the bus stop with the posters I was there. I was having a dream," said Yamal again.

Meanwhile, Yamal will play Barcelona in El Clasico's match against Real Madrid this weekend.

The 17-year-old admits that he is no longer tense with the party full of rivalry, unlike when he made his El Clasico debut last season.
