Asian Champions League Results 2: Persib Again Failed To Win, Series 1-1 Vs Lion City Sailors

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung again failed to win. In the third match of Group F of the 2024/2025 Asian Champions League, Maung Bandung shared one point with Lion City Sailors after the match ended with a score of 1-1.

Appearing as the host, Persib Bandung, who competed at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on Thursday, October 24, 2024, WIB night.

They immediately took control of the game from the early minutes. However, the solid defense of Lion City Sailors gave birth to a deadlock.

The first opportunity was created when the game rolled 30 minutes. Through Edo Febriansah's pass which was forwarded to Ciro Alves, the ball rolled into the opponent's penalty box, but could still be blocked.

The Persib deadlock finally broke in the 43rd minute. Tyronne del Pino opened the hosts' lead to 1-0.

Through a counter-attack scheme, Dimas Drajad was able to release a through ball that Tyronne managed to get. The striker was then able to finish with a short kick so that the ball passed over the head of goalkeeper Mahbud.

The 1-0 score lasted until halftime.

Continued to the second half, Lion City Sailors started the game quickly. Bailey Wright was able to score a goal back to change the score to 1-1 in the 49th minute.

The goal started with Maxime Lestienne who sent a cross into the middle of the penalty box. Wright then won an aerial duel. Kevin Mendoza couldn't hold his header.

Just two minutes later, Persib Bandung had to play with 10 people. Dimas Drajad received a red card directly from the referee after headed up Bart Ramselaar.

With the advantage of the number of players, Lion City Sailors locked Persib. The visitors played direct by releasing a lot of cross into the penalty box.

In six minutes of injury time, Lion City Sailors' attack several times gave birth to a corner kick. However, nothing came to fruition.

Lion City finally followed in the footsteps of Persib playing with 10 players. Ramselaar got a red card following his tackle to Edo Febriansah.

In the remaining time the game was not scored. The 1-1 score lasted until the game was over.

This result marks Persib Bandung's first point in the Asian Champions League 2 after losing the first two matches.

Maung Bandung remains the caretaker of Group F because he has only won one point.
