Tanjung Perak Immigration Deports A Gang Of Online Fraudsters From China

SURABAYA - Immigration Officer Class I at the Tanjung Perak Immigration Checkpoint (TPI), Surabaya, East Java, deported a gang of fraudsters on a network from China who some time ago was revealed by the Surabaya City Police.

The gang of fraudsters on the network (online) targeting victims in China rented a house to be used as an office in Surabaya and is known to enter Indonesia using a visit visa.

"The number is nine foreign nationals from China. Their legal process will be held in China," said Head of the Class 1 Immigration Office of TPI Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, I Gusti Bagus M. Ibrahiem to reporters in Surabaya as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 24.

He ensured that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Indonesia had coordinated with the police in his country to follow up on the legal process against the perpetrators who are currently carrying out the deportation process.

"Because they are involved in online fraud targeting victims of Chinese citizens. So, the embassy has coordinated with the police in the country to follow up on the legal process of these nine perpetrators," he said.

The majority of the nine Chinese foreigners are previously known to have been in and out of Indonesia using a visit visa, which is suspected of having been misused to commit online fraud activities.

"We ensure that along with deportation sanctions, all of them have been included in the list of prevention and deterrence or penalty," he said.
