Honorary Teacher Of South Konawe Suspected Of Persecuting Police Children With Sapugang Jalani Initial Session

KENDARI - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Kendari District Attorney (Kejari) charged the honorary teacher of State Elementary School (SDN) 4 Baito, South Konawe Regency (Konsel) Supriyani with articles of layered violence against minors.

The Public Prosecutor who is also the Head of the South Konawe District Attorney's Office, Ujang Sutisna, said that the defendant Supriyani was suspected of having committed violence against the child with the initials D at SDN 4 Baito, Wonua Raya Village, Baito District, South Konawe Regency, using the handle of the broom.

"As a result of the violence committed by the defendant resulted in the victim suffering bruises accompanied by abrasions on the right and left thighs," said Ujang Sutisna when reading the indictment at Supriyani's inaugural trial as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 24.

Supriyani was charged with Article 80 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 76C of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 as amended into Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

"The defendant was also charged with Article 351 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code," he said.

On the indictment read out by the prosecutor, Supriyani's lawyer denied the indictment and filed an exception.

"We are submitting an exception," he said.

Meanwhile, Kendari District Court Chief Justice Helmy Rosano said that his party gave legal counsel time for his exception submission until Monday (28/10).
