NasDem: Bahlil's Statement Regarding The Exchange Of Allotments For The Chairperson Of The MPR Can Usik Coalition

Chairman of the House of Representatives NasDem Party faction Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat said the statement by Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia regarding the exchange of seats for the chairman of the MPR to increase ministerial rations for the Golkar Party could disturb the coalition.

"This kind of statement can disturb the cohesiveness and solidity of the coalition which should not be good for the general chairman of the coalition members," Viktor said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 24.

He said the election of Secretary General of Gerindra Ahmad Muzani as Chair of the MPR for the 2024 '2029 period was carried out based on the results of deliberation and interfractional consensus.

"The election process is in line with the provisions of the Law on the MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD (UU MD3) and technical regulations in the MPR Regulation which essentially prioritizes deliberation and consensus," said Viktor.

According to him, the mechanism for selecting the chairman of the MPR is in line with MPR Regulation Number 1 of 2024 Article 19 paragraphs 1 to 11. The article states that the selection of the chairman of the MPR is carried out by deliberation and consensus or is chosen by voting by all members of the MPR.

"And those who get the most votes are determined as chairman of the MPR in the plenary session," he added.

NasDem also reminded parties who are members of the coalition supporting the government to maintain cohesiveness and togetherness for the success of the development policies and programs promoted by President Prabowo Subianto.

"Comparation and cooperation as well as solidity are the keys for the coalition in realizing the vision and mission of the Prabowo-Gbran government in the next five years," he said.

Previously, the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, revealed that his party received eight ministerial seats in the Red and White Cabinet of President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka for giving the seat of chairman of the MPR to the Gerindra Party.

According to Bahlil, the provision of seats for the chairman of the MPR from the Golkar Party to the Gerindra Party until it was held by Ahmad Muzani through a consensus.
