Kadin Hopes That The Prabowo-Gibran Government Supports A Conducive Business Climate In East Java

JAKARTA - Chairman of the East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Adik Dwi Putranto hopes that the leadership of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka can support a conducive business climate in this province, especially in the midst of global uncertainty.

"Business actors in the province who contributed the second largest after DKI Jakarta hoped that under the leadership of Prabowo and Gibran, they would be more conducive," he said in Surabaya, East Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, October 24.

Adik menjelaskan, kontribusi Jatim terhadap Produk Domestic Gross (GDP) Indonesia sudah sangat besar yaitu mencapai sekitar 14,43 persen dan 25.30 persen terhadap PDRB Pulau Jawa.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, the realization of East Java's investment in the third quarter of 2024 reached Rp39.69 trillion, including Foreign Investment (PMA) of Rp13.88 trillion and Domestic Investment (PMDN) of Rp25.81 trillion.

This figure shows an increase of two percent year-on-year and 11.6 percent quarterly (Q to Q) with a total cumulative achievement from January to September 2024 reaching IDR 111.4 trillion.

The cumulative realization has reached 74.9 percent of the BKPM target of IDR 148.8 trillion and 96.9 percent of the East Java Province Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) target of IDR 115 trillion.

According to Adik, this achievement will increase along with the increase in investment entering East Java.

Therefore, East Java needs support from the Red and White Cabinet, such as through the provision of ease of doing business so that many investments will come.

Moreover, East Java has a lot of great potential including downstreaming, green industry, blue industry such as fisheries, accultural, shipping, energy, tourism, and marine biotechnology.

Efforts to boost Prabowo and Gibran's leadership in the business climate in East Java are also considered to be able to contribute to Indonesia's economic growth target of eight percent by 2025.

East Java is now also increasingly attractive to investors because it will become a Hub for the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) or become a center of gravity for Indonesia.

"When the government will make a policy, the collaboration between the government and entrepreneurs must be emphasized by research so that the resulting policies spur economic growth as expected," said Adik.
