Indonesia U-17 Has A Lot Of Homework After Winning Against Kuwait U-17

JAKARTA - The U-17 Indonesian national team coach, Nova Arianto, admitted that his team still had some homework despite winning against Kuwait U-17 in the inaugural match of Group G of the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup Qualification.

Indonesia U-17 successfully won 1-0 against Kuwait at the Abdullah Alkhalifa Alsabah Stadium, Mishref, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, WIB night.

The victory was achieved through Mathew Baker's single goal in the eighth minute. However, the three points did not prevent the U-17 Indonesian national team from being criticized by netizens.

Nova Arianto also admitted that his team had some homework to do.

"There are several notes and we will fix that," Nova said as quoted by Antara on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

"Including how players anticipate counter-attacks. Hopefully in the future the team can be better," Nova said again.

In addition, Nova also assessed that his players were still not calm when they had their first match.

"They were tense and looked nervous. However, it was natural for the first match. Hopefully in the next match the players can enjoy the match more," said Nova.

Despite winning, the appearance of the U-17 Indonesian national team against Kuwait was considered unsatisfactory. Warganet assessed that many Garuda Muda players made pass errors and often released far passes so that they could easily lose the ball.

Meanwhile, after passing the inaugural match, the U-17 Indonesian national team will then face the U-17 North Mariana Islands at the Abdullah Alkhalifa Alsabah Stadium, on Friday, October 25, 2024.
