DKI Provincial Government Targets Slum RW Arrangement To Be Completed In 2026
Head of the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office of Kelik Indriyanto said that currently there are still 222 slum RWs out of a total of 445 RWs that need arrangement.
Since 2018, the DKI Provincial Government has started running a slum arrangement program with the Community Action Plan (CAP) scheme. Kelik targets the slum RW arrangement to be completed in the next two years.
"We have started from 2018 until now. We have mapped the slum RWs everywhere. We hope that in 2026 our target will be achieved, which is 222 slum RWs," said Kelik, Thursday, October 24.
The DKI Provincial Government plans to arrange 55 priority RWs in 2025. While the rest will be completed in 2026. The 55 RWs that will be prioritized are 10 RWs in Central Jakarta, 3 RWs in North Jakarta, 17 RWs in West Jakarta, 12 RWs in South Jakarta, 13 RWs in East Jakarta.
Previously, the Chairman of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Yuke Yurike, highlighted that there are still many slum areas that are not registered in Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 90 of 2018 concerning Improvement of Settlement Quality in the Context of Arrangement of Integrated Settlement Areas.
In fact, according to him, densely populated areas, especially those that are often affected by floods, should fall into the category of slum areas and need to be arranged. The reality is that there are several areas that have not yet been completed and we consider that they still need structuring," said Yuke, Wednesday, October 23.
Therefore, Yuke appealed to the DKI Provincial Government to evaluate Pergub 90/2018 to be relevant to the current situation.
"Commission D will definitely encourage the evaluation (Pergub) because when we go down to the field, we still consider many environments that need extra arrangement," explained Yuke.
Agreeing, Secretary of Commission D Habib Muhammad bin Salim Alatas also regrets that there are still many slum areas that are not included in the structuring priority program.
"My electoral district, a slum area that is already parallel to the Ciliwung River, is not included in slum areas. Even though it is always flooded every year. It's in Kalibata," said Habib.
Continuing, Member of Commission D Abdurrahman Suhaimi encourages the Public Housing and Settlement Area Offices to have a target every year to complete slum areas in Jakarta.
"Don't let the new slum RW emerge again next year. If it can be prioritized, how much this year, next year how much, to determine the budget," added Suhaimi.
