Secretary General Of PLO Appreciates Indonesia's Support For Palestine At The International Forum When Meeting Foreign Minister Sugiono

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Hussein Al-Sheikh appreciated Indonesia's support for Palestine in various international forums, providing direction on the current situation in the Gaza Strip, when meeting with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono.

The meeting was held between the two of them on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia on Wednesday, October 23.

Al-Sheikh expressed his gratitude for all the support that Indonesia has given to Palestine in international forums, as well as for the humanitarian assistance provided to the United Nations Agency for Assistance and Work for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), as quoted by WAFA, October 23.

On the occasion, Al-Sheikh reiterated the position of the Palestinian State calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel's full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and accelerated the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip, especially northern Gaza, to avoid humanitarian hunger.

Al-Sheikh added that the Palestinian State will continue its role in the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and ease their suffering.

The Indonesian Foreign Minister was also briefed on the ongoing attacks on the West Bank, including Jerusalem, stressing the need to implement international and international law's legitimacy resolutions and end occupation and colonialism.

Previously, Foreign Minister Sugiono reiterated Indonesia's support for the Palestinian struggle and the provision of humanitarian assistance to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
