Movies See You Goodbye Mark The Opening Of Jakarta Film Week 2024

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Film Week (JFW) 2024 film festival officially opened on Wednesday, October 23 yesterday. Located at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, filmmakers from various countries were met through various films from 150 countries.

Actor Kristo Immanuel as the ambassador of this festival feels proud to be able to welcome fans and filmmakers who will take part in the festival for the next four days.

Very honored to stand today as a festival ambassador. I watched the first time at the age of 4 and at the age of 8, I was able to make a film. The result but I like it. Since then I have been obsessed with the film and this is an honor. said Kristo Immanuel on Wednesday, October 23.

"The festival is not only a place to bring together filmmakers but also a place to meet and listen to all those involved in conversations about the world. The film we will watch for 4 days will inspire and touch us," he continued.

The presence of a film festival in the midst of the development of the Indonesian film industry is growing rapidly as a sign that this industry is widely supported by various parties.

"I am proud of Indonesia's cinema which is a reflection of the festival and this is an international celebration that continues to grow and we are also growing for the international world where we can share," Kristo continued.

140 films from 55 countries will air for 4 days starting from 23-27 October 2024. This festival opens with the film "See you, Goodbye" by Adriyanto Dewo.

This is the second time working with Adriyanto. Working with him is a fun process, an exploration process, and an exchange of ideas. The film is about turbulent at the age of 20 so hopefully it's related to you guys," said Lutesha as one of the film players.

The film See You, Goodbye tells the story of Wyna (Putri Marino) who is looking for her missing lover, Dani (Jourdy Pranata) to South Korea. He met Rey (Jerome Kurnia) who is an Indonesian worker in Korea.

Later, the film Don't Cry Butterfly by Duong Dieu Linh will be the result of collaboration between Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia. This film will close the series of festivals on Sunday, October 27.
