Head Of Housing Task Force: Prabowo Commits To Continue IKN Development
Chairman of the Housing Task Force (Satgas) Hashim Djojohadikusumo said President Prabowo Subianto remains committed to continuing the construction of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN), East Kalimantan.
"The commitment remains," said Hashim as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 23.
Hashim said that the IKN development will continue with the appointment of the former Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono as Head of the IKN Authority.
The construction of this IKN, said Hashim, will continue with the procurement of adequate facilities and infrastructure, before it actually functions as a government center.
"So IKN will be continued, which will be continued with first facilities that must be completed. The problem is yesterday, it turns out that the facilities and infrastructure are not complete," said Hashim.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed that President Prabowo Subianto gave directions for the development of the capital city of the archipelago or IKN to focus on presenting a legislative and judicial center.
"What is clear, what we have heard is how the continuation of this IKN is more prioritized to present a center for legislature, for example, because the executive has been built," said AHY.

According to him, the progress executives are also real and it can be seen that all parties, the last ones inaugurated were the State Palace by the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Jokowi, and AHY, who at that time served as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency, were present to submit certificates.
Then the next Garuda Palace and also a number of ministry offices including the centralities of the Coordinating Ministry which have also been built and will still be completed.
"But apart from being an executive, of course, it is a legislature, so the parliament building must also be ready, including for judiciary institutions. This is what I hear at least directly from his direction (President of the Republic of Indonesia) in the future, prioritizing it before it is developed or expanded to other functions of government and other business functions," said AHY.
