Kemenpora Sets Target 5 Gold Medals For The 2028 Olympics
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has set a high target for the Indonesian contingent at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Four to five gold medals are the destination.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports (Wamenpora), Taufik Hidayat, said that getting more than two gold medals would be a big target to be pursued.
"Later in the long term it is in accordance with the direction of the President. Our target exceeds two gold medals at the 2028 Olympics. That may be the target of four or five gold medals," said Taufik.
One of the preparations to meet this big target is the construction of the Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center which is planned to be completed in December 2024.

Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center stands on an area of eight hectares. The sports that will be prepared here are gymnastics, weightlifting, martial arts, swimming, archery, badminton, football, and rock climbing.
