Construction Completed, Ciroyom Flyover Officially Operates

The Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation through the Bandung Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP Bandung) has completed the construction of the Ciroyom Flyover.

The flyover has also been operated starting today.

Head of BTP Bandung Endang Setiawan said the construction of this flyover aims to improve safety at railroad crossings.

"This Ciroyom Flyover will start operating on October 23, 2024, at 08.00 WIB, so for people who will cross JPL 157, please adjust," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 23.

Furthermore, Endang explained that before being able to fully operate the Ciroyom Fly Over, testing needs to be carried out, one of which is in the form of Road Function Feasibility Certification by PUPR, and it is necessary to fulfill the signs on the flyover and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.

"We have coordinated with the Bandung City Government and PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung in the context of closing the JPL 157 crossing so that later people will only be able to access the flyover," added Endang.

Endang said the construction of the Ciroyom Flyover was also a form of DJKA's support for the high-speed train, namely the Feeder Train which operates between Padalarang-Bandung.

Given the increasing frequency of trains passing, as well as to relieve congestion during peak hours when people start their activities.

"We hope that with this flyover, the level of accidents at level crossings can be suppressed and increase public awareness that self-security is the main thing," added Endang.

Endang said that the closure of this level crossing was in accordance with the mandate of the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 94 of 2018 concerning the Improvement of the Safety of Crossroads between Railways and Roads.

Endang also thanked the entire community for their support and attention to the handling of this crossing and stakeholders including the Bandung City Government, PT KAI (Persero) Daop 2 Bandung as well as regional apparatus involved in the flyover development process so far can operate and be enjoyed by the community.

"Ensuring the Ciroyom flyover to stay in accordance with its function is our duty together, therefore we hope for cooperation from all flyover users, especially not to carry out vandalism and drive in accordance with applicable traffic regulations," concluded Endang.
