Komeng And Members Of The DPD RI Were Reminded By The KPK To Participate In Eradicating Corruption

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded DPD RI members to commit to carrying out their duties and maintaining integrity as public officials. They are also asked to be active in eradicating corruption.

This was conveyed by the Deputy for Education and Community Participation of the KPK, Wawan Wardiana, in the Anti-Corruption Strengthening activity for Integrity State Administrators (PAKU Integrity) which was attended by hundreds of members of the DPD RI, including Alfiansyah Komeng. This activity was held at the Shangrilla Hotel, Jakarta on Monday, October 21 yesterday.

"Wherever we are, any position where the emban father and mother will not go far to achieve the goal of the state. One of them is to get to Indonesia free from corruption," Wawan said as quoted from the KPK's official written statement, Wednesday, October 23.

"We need all elements to contribute to make it happen," he continued.

Wawan said there were at least five things that the DPD RI could do in an effort to eradicate corruption. The first is to encourage legislation that supports the eradication of corruption.

The second supports regional transparency and accountability. The third oversees the implementation of anti-corruption policies in the regions," he said.

Next, Wawan also said that the DPD RI could advocate and socialize anti-corruption values and strengthen collaboration with the KPK and other law enforcement officials.

"We hope that you and your mother can carry out their mandate seriously, professionally, with integrity so that later they can be role models in carrying out their duties," said Wawan.

Meanwhile, La Ode Umar Bonte, who is a member of the DPD RI from Southeast Sulawesi, said that the briefing by the KPK could reduce corrupt behavior. (Because, red) sometimes people don't understand, firm on different occasions.

There are also those who feel careless because they feel supervised. So that anti-corruption briefings like this are needed," continued La Ode Umar.

In the future, La Ode stated that he would focus on implementing the value of integrity in carrying out his daily duties. "So that it can be an example for every stakeholder in a collaborating area," he concluded.
