100 Days In Office, Minister Of Manpower Promises To Solve UMP Issues
JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli revealed the target of 100 days serving as Minister of Manpower. Yassierli said that he was targeting the completion of the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) determination which according to him was a strategic issue.
"We will try to find the best solution, that's the first," he told the media crew after handing over the position at the Ministry of Manpower Building, Tuesday, October 22.
Yassierli said to solve the problem, his party would cooperate with trade unions to the Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo).
However, he ensures that the welfare of the community does not only cover the UMP but is wider than that, such as wages based on productivity, which contribute to improving the welfare of workers as a whole.
"So it's very broad, of course all of us want and for sure, according to the expectations of the President, welfare must be number one," explained Yassierli.
He further said, to achieve the welfare of the community, his party will also cooperate with other Ministries/Institutions so that welfare can be achieved as a whole.
"Not only involving one ministry. So indeed I really want later how we can establish communication," he added.
Another target that wants to be realized is related to the solution to creating new jobs, reducing the unemployment rate and the Termination of Work Relations (PHK).

Yassierli also said that during the handover of the position, Airlangga also gave a message regarding the productivity and competitiveness of Indonesian human resources through reskilling, upskilling
"The President himself has a message to us that we are also preparing human resources so that we can send abroad regarding hospitality, related to paramedics and so on, we will also coordinate maybe with the relevant ministries, so we really hope that 100 days there is a breakthrough that we really hope this will be a new spirit," he said.
