Prabowo's Cabinet Is Considered 'fatness', PDIP Defends: DPR Prepares Its Budget

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Said Abdullah responded to the Prabowo Subianto government's Red and White Cabinet which was considered too fat because it consisted of more than 100 ministers and deputy ministers. PDIP in Parliament also defended by saying that the Indonesian House of Representatives had allocated a budget for the ministry to the Prabowo government.

"If there is an opinion on the perspective analysis of the Red and White cabinet under the leadership of President Prabowo, that the cabinet with 41 ministries and 7 Coordinating Ministers plus agencies, came to the conclusion that this cabinet was fat and some even stated that it was too fat. From our side in the DPR, the perspective, whatever the President decides, is prepared in such a way," said Said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 22.

The former chairman of the DPR Banggar said the President had taken into account the policy direction to be achieved in a short time. Because President Prabowo will be working soon.

"Well, in terms of budget, we are indeed preparing for the budget, in reserve funds that are allowed by the APBN Law. We just need to believe that if this goes smoothly as desired by the president, the policy orchestration will be achieved by the president," said Said.

Said hopes that President Prabowo can evaluate his cabinet journey within six months or one year of work. "That is our hope that the president's dream can be achieved," said Said.

"Because if it's okay then we convict the president (kabinet) too fat, later we will be able to, because of what, it's okay for the president to have been sentenced. Give it a chance, and surely the president will also evaluate it," he continued.

Said also considered it natural for Prabowo to appoint many ministers and deputy ministers for his cabinet. Apart from accommodating supporting political parties, according to him, Prabowo wants there to be an acceleration of development of every performance of his government.

"Fortunately, if later supporters, coalitions, for me, are not humane, the important thing is the size as stated by the president at the plenary session, what vision is the program, then the cabinet formed by the president has the competence, the capability is fulfilled, God willing, it will work," he concluded.
